Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU) bring you news and information about research and development in career-related learning and career guidance in Higher Education.
HECSU is a registered charity.
HECSU's mission is,
"The advancement of education of students and graduates of any establishment of higher education… by supporting and assisting the work of the careers advisory services…"
This website includes information about research conducted by HECSU, as well HECSU funded research and development projects as well as news about other relevant work. HECSU's development plan outlines this. It appears on the website in five distinct themed areas:
HECSU is also a membership organisation providing support for its members in educational insitutions and employer organisations. Full details of the support package available for each group can be found in About Membership on this site.
Graduate Prospects is the commercial arm of HECSU and provides careers information and services to students, graduates, university careers advisory services, employers and others.
The National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) is part of HECSU. The NCWE aims to encourage and support the development of quality standards across all forms of work experience, disseminate good practice regarding work placements and encourage more employers to provide placement opportunities.
