Not a member?

HECSU has extended its membership. You should join if you are:

an institution with students progressing into or through HE into employment;
an organisation or employer using graduate labour market information (LMI) or needing a wider perspective on the student and graduate experience recruitment.

Why have we done this?

The early results from Futuretrack, our major five year study following some 130,000 UCAS applicants through their studies and into work, are now available. HECSU can now provide evidence based information about:

university choices
success of applications
attitudes to higher education
career planning.

In addition we will be able see what informs career decision making as students progress through their studies and into employment.

HECSU provides a one-stop shop to meet all my needs of higher education within a college of further education. Clear and up-to-date information is provided together with personal support if needed from the initial stage of undergraduates seeking information on careers/postgraduate study, to labour market information, including the whole application process, and vacancy details to successful employment.

The HECSU Practitioner Research Fund provided invaluable support to Strathclyde Careers Service when other major funders declined our bid to create Graduate Job Search On-line. HECSU immediately saw the practical value of a resource for global job search for graduates and, after a simple application process, gave us a quick decision on our bid. This support enabled ......to proceed to create a resource which is now used by many careers services and job seekers throughout the UK and overseas.
