Seven Years On is a report of the longitudinal research carried out by Professors Kate Purcell and Peter Elias at the Institute for Employment Research at the University of Warwick that has tracked the experiences of the cohort of students who graduated in 1995. A summary of the report, which includes further references and website addresses is available above.

This important work is a continuation of the Moving On study of the 1995 graduate cohort conducted 3-4 years after graduation, developing from the earlier HECSU-funded study directed by Purcell that surveyed 1995 final year students for the Great Expectations report and followed them up eighteen months later: the Working Out study. Together, these constitute the most authoritative, long-term investigations of graduate career progression within the UK labour market until now, which have led to a greater awareness of the need to investigate graduate labour market integration and career development, stimulating the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) to explore the development of a follow-up to the First destinations Survey of UK HEI students, the DLHE Longitudinal First Survey and HECSU's development of the Futuretrack studies and the wider Career-making Research Programme of which they constitute the core.

Notice: the research team has also undertaken a parallel study of the 1999 cohort of graduates. Reports of this study will be posted in the latest news section as and when they become available.
