A PROP report.
Paul Greenbank and Sue Hepworth explore the areas where evidence suggests that the lack of economic, social and cultural capital, compared with middle class students, lead to a disadvantage in the labour market.
By looking at why working class students make their career decisions, this study seeks to identify if and in what ways these students might be at a disadvantage in the labour market.
The outcome of the study is that working class students need to be better informed about how to approach career decision-making. It has some practical recommendations to consider when implementing strategies to enable this to happen.
