About us

Established in 1972, the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU) is an independent research charity specialising in higher education and graduate employment.

We seek to support careers advisory services as they guide students and graduates through university and into the labour market.

We aim to:

  • improve the dissemination of information about higher education and graduate employment
  • contribute to knowledge of student and graduate career development and employment by conducting and commissioning research
  • work with careers advisers, academic staff, and employers to support graduate employability
