The Real Prospects research and development programme explores the process of employability in order to understand how universities and employers can better support their students and graduates.

About Real Prospects

The programme explores students' career learning and examines how graduates find, secure and maintain employment. It seeks to contribute to understanding of graduate employment and careers, and to provide practical evidence-based advice and guidance to students, graduates and careers professionals.

In 2011 HECSU conducted a survey of graduates in employment to explore their experiences of the world of work. Here's what participants had to say about the project:

Biology, 2008

'An insightful survey - got me thinking about my career development'

Computer Science, 2009

'It's good to have the opportunity to pass on my experience to new graduates and to students who are thinking about doing a degree'

English Literature, 2003

'I found the survey thought-provoking - it prompted me to re-assess my situation'
